At a meeting with investors, at the site of Woods’ first U.S. design project in Asheville, NC, Woods hit two ceremonial drives from a tee. Both went wide right into the trees. After a couple of snickers from the crowd, Woods asked the crowd if anyone else would like to take a swing. Up stepped 12-yr old Mark…apparently the only golfer on Earth with a spine when pitted against Tiger Woods!
Two drives, each 200 yards, straight down the middle. Are you kidding me? This video is great.

Unfair…..There were no crowd snickers, and no challenge to be beaten. Tiger slammed a couple down the fairway (which is still loaded with trees as it has not been completely cleared), then stepped back to let some others do it too. The kid stepped up and knocked a great shot (2 actually). So did several other people. (admittedly not as good as Mark did). We were all impressed, but to spin this like Tiger was “beaten” is bogus. There was no contest at all. I was there. Ya’ll back off.
Thanks for the comment Stevie…I mean Skippy.
Obviously Tiger didn’t get beat. First off, there wasn’t a competition being held. I just can’t believe the balls that kid had. I’m a pretty good golfer, and I struggle with “first tee jitters” when there are 2 people standing around. Now add 100 extra people plus Tiger Woods?!?! Forget it…I’d hit a nasty shank.
