Changing the Road Hole, or really anything on the Old Course, is nearly sacrilege. Would one add a PowerPoint projector to Notre Dame Cathedral to enable multimedia worship services? How about a Tommy Hilfiger logo on the Statue of Liberty? Some things just need to be left alone, and #17 is one of them.
